Help Us Buy a Truck for Cultivate & Community Food Box Project!
We are Cultivate—a rebranded and reborn version of the Community Food Box Project. Same mission, deeper roots. We are a grassroots nonprofit radically reimagining food access through mutual aid, community farming, and food policy education. And we’ve made a commitment: we refuse to take money from institutions or systems that perpetuate the very food apartheid we are fighting against. That means we rely entirely on people like you. Since 2016, Community Food Box Project has refurbished abandoned newspaper boxes and turned them into little pantries to take food when they need. We have installed 83 food boxes to date.
Right now, we’re in urgent need of a reliable truck to keep our work moving.
We’re constantly picking up and dropping off food, supplies, and donations across the city. Thanks to partnerships with Westminster, food pantries, local churches, and community members, we’ve seen an increase in food drives and pantry support. But without a vehicle, we’re hitting a wall. We’ve also opened a brick-and-mortar pantry in our office space where volunteers can come shop and take food to food boxes—but we need to keep it stocked weekly to keep up with demand.
And that’s not all—we’ve acquired land for farming and are preparing to launch our first growing season through Cultivate! But how do we move raised beds, soil, compost, tools, and building materials? You guessed it—a truck.
We’re raising $15,000 to purchase a used truck, cover insurance, registration, fuel, and basic maintenance. This truck won’t just transport goods—it will carry the vision of a liberated food system. It will connect gardens, pantries, farms, and families. It will allow us to grow more, give more, and organize more.
If you believe in food justice, in self-determination, in communities feeding communities—please give what you can. And if you can’t give, sharing helps more than you know.
